Dennis’ first photomontages were the Cactoons®. They are whimsical characters that live on a distant planet and enjoy the lifestyle of the Old West with western duds, covered wagons, six-shooters and tumbleweeds. He created them by combining images of cactus found in the Sonoran Desert (i.e. Saguaro, Prickly Pear and Golden Barrel) and western style clothes. Since these characters have odd shaped bodies, their clothing was painstakingly “digitally tailored”. Cactoons photomontages also include digital paintings (i.e. sky and moons) and Old West images shot at various movie sets, theme parks and museums.
